We are an approved supplier to Bombardier, Liebherr, Alstom, Thales, Alcatel, CN Rail, Via Rail, GE Transportation, Siemens, Honeywell, Rockwell, Westinghouse Rail (Europe, UK, Australia) and many others.

Our quality is based on several guiding principles which are:

  • Beside the quality of the designs, our reliability is also based on the traditional large headrooms.
  • This allows operation in a wide temperature range without de-rating.
  • The strict use of qualified-in components, with many years of established reliability, is another contributor to the high, demonstrated MTBF of our units.
  • We do not buy our parts based on prices, but approved brands only. Typically,
  • each major heat-generating component is attached to our characteristic aluminum heatsink blocks, which provide conduction cooling to the base plate.

ABSOPULSE is a custom design house, engineering and production DC/DC-, AC/DC-. DC/AC- und AC/AC since 1982.
The company maintains all the products to date and all of them are still available today, naturally developed with newer technologies, with other words, we do not obsolete any products. Any of our previous product can be manufactured for infinite duration, or replaced with a fully equivalent replacement product.
We have numerous products which are in operation for 20-30 years, and we still provide full service for them.

RWY Family. One of our oldest projects was for the Vancouver Rapid Transit system. It was installed 29 years ago; our DC/DC converters are driving the on-board communication system on each train. The systems are still in operation, we still provide maintenance support.

Numerous projects with TTC (Toronto Transit Commission). We constantly receive ongoing new projects from the TTC. The oldest projects are in operation over 25 years and still serviced.
A further project of the Canadian Transportation Authority (CTA) is the Toronto Rocket, retrofitted the Toronto subway hydraulic suspension system with RWY units.

In the year 2000, we sold Qty. 2,500 RWY30 units to the French High-speed Train, for powering radio equipment. We have not yet had a single return on these units. The units are in continuous operation. To date, without a single failure.

We have won several consecutive contracts for the Paris Metro. These are BAP-200 W DC/DC plug-in modules in a 3U x 19” shelf for track-side applications. The system has been operating failure free for 10 years. Customer ordered several times additional quantities for expansion.

We designed a special custom unit for Disney in Florida. These units power the control logic at various stations. The system is in operation for over 15 years. The only failures we had which were caused by direct lightning strike. We replaced the destroyed units.

Several years ago we won a major retrofit program in Australia whit Downer/EDI for Public Transport Authority (PTA). Six different converters where shipped in significant quantities for upgrading older trains. We shipped several times additional quantities.

Retrofit program for Dutch Rail with DCW-R’s. Deliveries are completed. No failures.

We are a standard supplier to STE (Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd) with several larger projects in the Far East and Asia. On all project negligible failure rate. Regular orders for additional units.

As a military project, we also won the contract with General Dynamics for a 1.5kW battery charger installed on the Stryker vehicle. Several thousand units were delivered in the past twelve years, with an impeccable track record, including use in actual battle zones. We regularly servicing damaged units in the field application.

We have been manufacturing a variety of fluorescent light inverters for city busses in the past five years. Over 200,000 units were installed in major North American cities, such as New York and Toronto. The demonstrated reliability is well over 10 million hours. We won this contract against our competitors on proven reliability.

Another similar project was the C130 (Hercules) transport aircraft retrofit program over 20 years ago. Based on our performance, we received another similar retrofit program about 10 years ago.

We have been manufacturing plug-in systems for Litton (today Northrop Grumann) for a military air traffic control system for over 20 years. We have won the contract also for the new generation system based on our reliability and service record.

We received a large contract for powering air-traffic control systems from one of our oldest large customers, Solacom/Harris. Absopulse was specified into the customer requirements, based on the 25 year track record of the previous systems at NAV Canada, which are still in operation, and maintained.

We are an approved supplier to Bombardier, Liebherr, Alstom, Thales, Alcatel, CN Rail, Via Rail, GE Transportation, Siemens, Honeywell, Rockwell, Westinghouse Rail (Europe, UK, Australia) and many others with similar long-term project as above examples.
